About Steve

Hello, I'm Steve Milford, and I look forward to meeting and working with you. My perspective is a little bit different. I didn't become a Realtor for a job, I starting this journey because I like to figure out how things work, and when I personally experienced horrible customer service, I thought, "Someone should fix this." Mom's are the best, and it was my mother that pushed me to go for it. But let's back track a little. 

 

In 2015, when I was going through a divorce, I needed every last penny. That was the time when Realtor commission rates were 3% on each side or 6% total. I thought to myself, "There is no way I can afford that," but I still needed to sell. So I decided to sell my house myself as For-Sale-By-Owner. It wasn't without challenges, because of how the industry is built and it took longer than expected, but I got it done. I then decided that no one needed to go through the experience I went through, because it sucked. I have sold lots of things over the years, so I reached out to all the Realtors that had solicited me to sell my house, about mentorship and only one said, "Yes." 

 

Ironically, on the house I bought for myself, post divorce, I was my own Realtor. Over the years since, I have shown people how they can keep more of their money. As one client put it, “Steve encourages people NOT to spend money. Who does that?”  

 

In 2023, to increase my skills, I also became a loan officer so I could have a higher-level conversation with my clients. I leave most of the heavy hitting to my partners who have a lot of experience - but this endeavor allowed me to see a much wider picture.  

 

Now, I am able to talk about to clients from both the lending side and the real estate side.
